Nature has always been my greatest inspiration, and in this subseries of my Wavelength Rhythm paintings, which I call Botanical Rhythms, I get to explore the endless beautiful patterns found in plants and flowers. This particular painting is my abstract response to the beautiful palms and cycads which grow robustly here in South Florida.
As I create shapes with my special acrylic medium, the pattern that emerges is influenced by the music I am listening to.
Life is made up of wavelengths, after all.
The identifying number of this painting is 2016DAWR045BR.
It measures 12″ by 12″ and is first richly textured, then painted on a panel with highest-quality acrylic mediums and pigments. This painting demanded a very wet-into-wet approach, resulting in many impossible-to-imitate watercolor effects.
Please remember that everyone’s monitor or device shows the color differently. You can see in these photos how the light changes the paintings!
This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting by Donna McVicar Kazo, copyright 2016. It, and these photos, may not be reproduced in any form without her express written permission.
