This Wavelength Rhythm painting owes its magic to \u201cinterference\u201d pigments which are specially manufactured to play a trick on the viewer: sometimes you see the color, sometimes you see its complement, depending at what angle you see it. As blue and orange are complements, I painted alternate rows with these interference pigments, so that they \u201cflip\u201d back and forth. It\u2019s just impossible to catch the magic in a photograph! As I create the shapes with my special acrylic medium, the pattern that emerges usually has something to do with the music I am listening to. Life is made up of wavelengths, after all. It measures 12\u2033 by 12\u2033 and is first richly textured with my special medium, then painted on a panel with highest-quality acrylic mediums and pigments. My techniques include pouring, squirting, brushing, wiping, dabbing and watching the paint flow through the textures I made: messy but the result is worth it\u2026and which is why each painting is utterly unique. Like all of the paintings in this series, it can be enjoyed from any direction, and it comes framed with sawtooth hangers that let you choose what way it will hang on your wall.
